The Trojans of Middleville TK travelled to FHE for the first round of the OK Gold Conference Tournament.

The #4 seeded Hawks played a creative brand of possession soccer in the first half, but failed to capitalize on its opportunities, taking a 0-0 tie into the halftime break.

In the 49th minute, Senior Bailey Henderson made a run to the far post and finished Morgan Behm's cross to put the Hawks up 1-0.

Feeling the momentum, FHE continued to attack and create opportunities.  In the 54th minute, Jessie Fatum beat a defender to the endline and played a slotted ball to the 6 for fellow sophomore Jenna Winkel, who buried the opportunity to put the Hawks up 2-0.

The backline of Emily Smithson, Kristi Myers, Kelsey Jantz, and Margo Dixon kept the Trojans' attack under wraps while the Hawk midfield worked tirelessly in transition to ensure the 2-0 final score.

The Hawks move to 9-6-0 overall and move into the Conference Tournament Semifinal on Monday at Caledonia.  JV will kick off at 5pm and will be followed by the Varsity.

In the opener, the JV Hawks played a strong game against the top JV team in the conference, but came up short in a 3-1 loss.
