The Hawks travelled to Caledonia on Thursday for an OK Gold conference game, looking to rebound from Tuesday's disappointing loss to Catholic Central.
Eastern came out strong with several early chances, but Caledonia would hit the back of the net first, just 5:26 into the game.
The Hawks continued to attack, putting sustained pressure on the Caledonia defense. FHE did well to create attacking space, leading to 11 shots at goal in the first half, but were held scoreless.
Opportunies became more limited in the second half, as much of the game was played in the midfield. In the end, Caledonia would stave off the Hawk attacks to earn a 1-0 victory.
The Hawks move to 7-4-2 overall (3-3-0 OK Gold) for the season and will travel to Rockford for a non-conference game on Saturday.
